However, it made a powerful comeback in 1992 under the pioneering efforts of Bob Childs who built a pair of off-road in-line skates using Rollerblade boots and scooter wheels, named the ‘Wheels of Doom’, which proved very effective in reigniting the general interest in kiteboarding. And since then, the demand for equipment for kiteboarding has increased rapidly.
Over the last few years, the equipment used in the sport have undergone many changes and improvements. Anybody wishing to take up kiteboarding can easily avail all the requisite equipment these days. However, you must remember that kiteboarding is a demanding sport and requires that you use only the best and the strongest of gear to ensure maximum safety.

Using mountain-boards, the kite skateboarding daredevils practice their craft on multi-terrain surfaces although at a lesser speed than Kite Skaters. Nonetheless, kite skateboarding usually provides a better opportunity for performing jump tricks.
