The History of Adidas Superstar Trainers

In 1969, Adidas decided to launch a low-top version of their best selling Pro Model shoe. Since then, these footwear have taken on a life of their own and was swiftly adopted by both those involved in sport, particularly basketball, and music culture. Over the years, there have been a lot of adaptations of the original, all with identical fantastic characteristics of the original. Adidas Superstar have the trademark rubber shell toe piece, also donning the traditional Adidas stripes around the side, and a thin leather tongue. Adidas was the primary shoe organization to bring this kind of low best design on the basketball courts.

Nonetheless, Run D.M.C. really put Adidas Superstar around the map when they began wearing them onstage. The band even put a tribute song on the footwear known as, “My Adidas” on their album entitled, “Raising Hell” in 1986. Adidas is currently planning to release a 2010 40th anniversary of the Adidas Superstar commemorative shoe. This shoe will probably be released under the Specific Edition version and will probably be sure to include true icons on the shoe’s history.

Never would people have imagined that culture could be effected so greatly by footwear. Adidas has managed to put themselves around the map with these truly memorable footwear and will continue to perform so for years to come.
