The History of Adidas Superstar Trainers
In 1969, Adidas decided to launch a low-top version of their best selling Pro Model shoe. Since then, these footwear have taken on a life of their own and was swiftly adopted by both those involved in sport, particularly basketball, and music culture. Over the years, there have been a lot of adaptations of the original, all with identical fantastic characteristics of the original. Adidas Superstar have the trademark rubber shell toe piece, also donning the traditional Adidas stripes around the side, and a thin leather tongue. Adidas was the primary shoe organization to bring this kind of low best design on the basketball courts.
Nonetheless, Run D.M.C. really put Adidas Superstar around the map when they began wearing them onstage. The band even put a tribute song on the footwear known as, “My Adidas” on their album entitled, “Raising Hell” in 1986. This brought Adidas Superstars to fantastic fame within the hip-hop community and is still a fashion statement made these days by a lot of rap artists.
You can find a number of generations of Adidas Superstar Trainers. The second generation, Adidas Superstar II, was introduced with identical classic design of the primary generation, but offered much more variety for its buyers. It became offered in both men’s and women’s styles, and was designed based upon the requires of the person wearing them. Adidas Superstar II comes in numerous colors and patterns, offering a personalized look on the shoe. This version also has an added padded tongue for comfort and the outer part of the shoe characteristics a herringbone pattern for added grip and support. Adidas has begun to release commemorative styles, for instance the 25th Anniversary of Def Jam Records shoe, in this design.
There’s also the Adidas Superstar Skate Pro shoe. This shoe is designed for those who live on their skateboard and need a piece of equipment that may handle abuse and excitement. These footwear still have identical rubber shell toe piece, but are wider for stability, have a thicker sole and shock-absorbing gel within the heel. Adidas when designing these footwear consulted skaters of all abilities to discuss what their requires really were in a shoe, and, in return, skaters received a fantastic shoe that was ready to shred at any level.
Adidas also released what they known as the Specific Edition versions of Adidas Superstar. This version of the shoe was themed, normally having to perform with world events or holidays. One of the most well-known version of this shoe is the Adidas Superstar Darth Vader, which includes the image of the Dark Lord of the Sith around the tongue. Adidas is currently planning to release a 2010 40th anniversary of the Adidas Superstar commemorative shoe. This shoe will probably be released under the Specific Edition version and will probably be sure to include true icons on the shoe’s history.
Never would people have imagined that culture could be effected so greatly by footwear. Adidas has managed to put themselves around the map with these truly memorable footwear and will continue to perform so for years to come.
