When planning for a Caribbean cruise, the excitement only grows as the vacation date approaches. uncertainly as you begin the planning and packing part of your voyage however , that excitement and anticipation can quickly turn to anxiety. The preparation for a cruise can assuredly feel overwhelming. After you have taken a few Caribbean cruises, you will be prepared to hit the beach in style.

Selecting the Right Itinerary for Your Trip
Once you have chosen an itinerary for your Caribbean cruise ship, as well as the cruise line that best supports these plans, you are well on your way to a perfect trip! With this information, you can figure out what needs to be packed and any other planning that needs attention. There are often special activities planned on the island for people taking a Caribbean cruise. If you plan on leaving the ship when it makes port, be sure to book those excursions in advance. If you book and plan any excursions when you first start to plan your Caribbean cruise, not only will it make your trip less stressful, but you will be able to plan your days and budge ahead of time.

Selecting Clothing
Another part of preparing for the best Caribbean cruise is choosing which clothes to bring with you. It can be mor4e planning and packing than the average Caribbean cruise traveler bargained for, between resort wear for the ship, beach wear for excursions and evening wear for the ship’s dining room. The key to holding all your personal supplies comfortably is carefully planning the way you pack them.

For the most efficient packing, use a single color scheme for your wardrobe, and then simply mix and match just a few pieces during your Caribbean cruise. For convenience, men can rent tuxedos on the ship, and women can bring a basic black dress that can be accessorized for day or night events. When going on a Caribbean cruise, coordinate shorts and tops that can be worn with each other. This will cut down on the amount of space you need when packing.

Before you go, make sure you have essentials such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a camera to capture the best moments of your Caribbean cruise. A little advanced planning and efficient packing will keep your Caribbean cruise vacation stress fee and fabulous!
Spend your vacation dollars wisely.

Those with poor planning skills, or a severe shortage of time, often find that a travel vacation package is something that works out very well for them. These are often very easy to find, a bit cheaper than putting everything together separately, and make travel much easier. Those with families often love these because there are a lot of family-orientated packages geared towards the whole family. Finding these is easy, but deciding on the right one is a little harder.

Most of the time, a good travel vacation spells everything out up front for the person buying the trip. That means you will know exactly what you are getting, and how much it is going to cost you. Families should be careful with all-inclusive packages that do not spell things out. Some find that this means that their travel vacation package includes a few meals, but they are on their own for others. It might not cover most taxes either. This is important to find out.

A travel vacation package does not have to be for families though. There are many out there for couples, and some that are just for honeymoons. Before you take one of these, think about what you are getting for the money. My husband and I took one of these for our honeymoon, and chose one due to the price. This was a mistake. Our honeymoon was a nightmare because of it. You will always find a great travel vacation package, but look into it before you commit your money and your time.

There are always extra expenses attached to any travel vacation package, but some deals are better than others. As long as you understand the cost of your travel vacation package, plus taxes, and what expenses might still be added once you arrive, you aren’t going to be caught unaware and under prepared.

There is nothing saying that you can’t ask questions before you accept a travel vacation package. If you don’t have the time to do this, you might want to hire a travel agent to find the best deal for you and to fill you in on the details. You can tell them what you need and what you hope to spend, and they will find the best deal they can. It is also a great idea to check up on any location by looking online for reviews from other travelers. Had I done this, I could have avoided a rather rotten honeymoon.

When deciding to go on a cruise ship vacations, there are many things to consider in order to make it really special and more memorable for you, especially if it’s your first cruise.

But what are the basics that make a really fulfilling cruise? Is it the cruise line? Does the destination really matter? Or is there a particular time of year to spend your hard earned money for a few nights of getaway?

Getting the right information at the right time means a great deal for a newbie cruiser. It’s not just about paying for your ticket, getting on board and voila you float yourself away to the destination that you wanted. If you think that’s the way it’s done then you are dead wrong.

Shopping around for the best vacation cruises line that can give you your money’s worth is the first thing you should do. If you know of anyone who has went on a cruise, than ask them for some information, which cruise line to go to.

There are plenty of cruise ships from different vacation cruises that you can choose from. But not all of them can give you the deals that you really want. By comparing prices, amenities and services this will help you in narrowing down your choices.

Making a rough estimate on how much you can actually spend is helpful, plus putting aside a contingency fund will prepare you for some unexpected expenditures towards the duration of the trip, otherwise you may be the only one empty handed while the rest of the tourists carry a handful of souvenir items from a shopping spree.

Here are some of the cruise lines that you might want to take to the place of cruise destination:

- Carnival Cruise Line
- Celebrity Cruises
- Holland America
- Norwegian Cruise Line
- Princess Cruises
- Royal Caribbean International

Another step in planning a cruise vacation is deciding which destination you want to go to. So let’s take a peek of the most common destinations that these cruise lines paid a visit to.

- Alaska
- Canada and New England
- Caribbean
- Mexico
- Panama Canal
- Europe
- Bahamas and Bermuda

Here are some of the things you need to prepare:

- Passport
- Digital Camera
- Binoculars
- Clothes and Footwear
- Credit Cards

Seasoned cruisers and newbie cruisers alike are in the lookout for the latest news about cruising. They want to know the hottest trend in cruising and keep up-to-date with the latest deals from the assortment of cruise lines giving out freebies and discounts to attract more vacationers.

What better place to visit and scour cruising news than the Internet. From the destinations, cruise lines or ships to the activities and the deals.

- Cruisemates (www.cruisemates.com)

This site was recommended by Fortune magazine as the best site for cruising articles and

New year’s eve in Paris?? Why not !
After Christmas time, Paris, the city of lovers, the best city in the world for many people, during last days of the year, gains more charm and suggestion as never. Streets are filled with people from all over the world, not only citizens but also many foreigners who choose the city searching for fun and romantic atmosphere.

Nowadays Paris is reached by low cost companies like Ryanair, Myair and Easyjet, just to make some examples. Otherwise you can choose the train or the bus, that booked on last minute, can be cheaper than flights. Travelling by night can be a good way to not loose time and be in the city, ready to discover it, just in the morning.

And then, What doing on last day of year? For the very last hours, the suggestion is to spend them on the streets, in the crowd of people hanging around. Particularly, exist two main to meet: the Champs-Elysees, where at midnight you can see the light show of lights of Tour Eiffel and then a lot of fireworks. Another important meeting point, maybe less famous, but not less charming, is that one in the Montmarte zone, in the square of Sacred Heart, where it will be for sure less people but anyway the fun cant miss, for all the clubs, cabaret and restaurant.

The importan thing is to organize the hotel or apartment’s return, to not risk to be stuck in the caotic crowd, searching for a metro or bus’ lift.

For who doesn’t want to miss the cultural heritage, it is of course worthwhile a visit to unfailing monuments and museums: Tour Eiffel, Arc de Triumf, Notre Dame, the Pompidou centre and of course the museum of Louvre. It can be interesting to visit this one on the very first day of the year, in which there is not so much people, that probably suffers the last night’s parties.

Then, a “promenade” along the Senna, or also navigate it on the famous boat “Bateaux” (and maybe eating in the restaurant on board), is a good way to get out from the crowd of the city and enjoy the beautiful view of the city in the night from another perspective.
Before getting back home, is recommended a jump at Lafayette Galerie for a souvenir or the last purchase. The commercial centre is so big that its so easy to get lost.

Make sure to book your accommodation (Alloggi Parigi) in advance so that you can find that perfect hotel (Hotel a Parigi) or apartment (Appartamento Parigi).

The words “Schools Out For Summer” strike joy into the hearts of children and often a sigh of relief for parents who are just as eager to take a break from homework as their progeny. However taking a complete break from the books for the entire summer can be problematic.

Studies have shown that children forget between 1 and 3 months of school during the vacation spots. While reading is the least effected, the most impacted subjects are spelling and math. Obviously it is important for children to have time to play and relax — to just enjoy being kids during the summer. Children should not be pushed into a high-pressure study schedule over summer vacation. But parents can take steps to slow down that loss of knowledge and erosion of skills.

First and foremost, keep children reading over the vacation spots but try to work in some nonfiction as well as fiction onto the reading list. Take a lesson from many experienced teachers and pick a few spelling words from the books children are reading. Perhaps tie test results into some special summer reward and you will have eagerly awaited spelling bees.

Writing is one skill that often erodes during vacation spots, but you can give children a writing journal and a weekly goal. They can write about whatever you think will interest your child. They can report on their baseball games, make up elaborate games, or simply report on the books they are reading. There are lots of great writing prompts out there for kids if you run dry of ideas. It does not matter so much what your child writes so long as they spend time writing so they can work on handwriting skills as well as keep in the groove of putting words on paper. One easy writing prompt is to have the child describe people, places, objects, pets and other animals, insects, and games. Lists are another easy writing prompt — favorite things, worst things, etc. Then on another day you can use those descriptions and lists to generate another writing prompt.

Math skills might seem the hardest thing to work on during summer but in fact these can be the easiest. Math does not have to come out of a book and you can easily work a lot of math lessons into those long car rides or plane trips as you go on a family vacation. Try counting car headlights (counting by 2s) as you drive or fingers in a restaurant or plane (counting by 5s). Find various shapes around the house and then trace them to create yet more complex forms. Get the kids involved in cooking and learning about measurements. Give the kids a ruler and notebook and tell them to measure various objects around the house. Empty out your pocket change and have the kids sort it and create word problems with the coins.

There are lots of activities you can do at home without the expense of special tools, workbooks or programs that will actively engage your child in learning and help keep their school skills sharp. They will not even notice they are learning because they will enjoy these projects so much.

No matter what part of the globe you’re from, you’re probably going to be taking a vacation soon. Can you recall how happy you were with how your last vacation pictures turned out?

The irony is that it usually takes the same amount of time to capture outstanding vacation pictures as it does mediocre ones.

So, what is necessary to take better vacation photos?

It’s pretty simple, really. Here’s how to take phenomenal vacation photographs in 10 steps: Take a few seconds before immediately snapping off 5 pictures and think about these questions:

Do I want to be in this photo? If so, use a tripod or ask a stranger to take the shot.

Would the photograph be better if I had people (or no people) in the shot?

Could this photograph improve if a circular polarizing filter was used?

Would this shot be much more spectacular if taken at another time of day or night (assuming of course, that you could return then)?

Do I have the right image in my viewfinder? Think of the view as though you were about to crop the final image. Is there way too much extraneous material in the image (or far too little)? Having up to 20% more in an un-cropped photograph is a good idea, but much more than that could begin to degrade the resolution after the picture is cropped.

Are all my settings correct (at a minimum, consider: ISO, metering mode, fill flash, and white balance).

Would the picture be more effective if taken using a portrait (vertical) perspective rather than a typical landscape (horizontal) perspective?

Am I about to be eaten by a wild animal? (It may not be photo-related, but if the camera is also eaten, then…)

Is there a better angle?

If I re-position myself, could I include something in the foreground (or background) that would improve the photo?

Realize that you probably don’t go on that many vacations per year. Therefore, doesn’t it make a lot more sense to take a few extra seconds before taking your photographs and be proud of your vacation pictures? Otherwise, the same old mediocre alternatives are still available.

The Caribbean is one of the first destinations people look to for their dream cruise vacation and it’s a perfect choice for just about any occasion whether it be a honeymoon, family holiday or just hanging out with friends.

One of the drawbacks for many is Caribbbean cruise costs and while cruise costs in general are way down on what they used to be, if you can save money without looking cheap then we say why not. Cruise holidays range in length from a few days to a couple of weeks and the tips presented here can be applied to any cruise destination.

Cutting Carribbean cruise costs can simply relate to avoiding some of the services presented to customers on board which you really don’t need. In fact, always look at whether they are cheaper elsewhere and most times they are. Here’s a short list of things to watch out for.

Saving On Carribean Cruise Costs

- To begin with, you should start of by first searching for cruises that take place in the Off Season. In addition, you will also need to decide on a destination and because prices during Off Season are very low you will not encounter any big difficulties in finding some very sweet deals.

- Another option worth checking out in regard to cheap Caribbean Cruises is to look for relocation cruises which are cruises that go to places that are most in demand by travelers. In such deals it is quite common for a cruise intended for Hawaii to go to the Caribbean because of more demand for the Caribbean.

- Most cruise lines will also charge low in order to entice more customers and in the case of a cruise line offering a trip aboard its latest cruise liner the prices too will often be slashed in order to induce customers to come aboard their ship.

- For those people that are employed by the Army, trying their base Tickets and Tours agencies is a good option because then it becomes possible to get low fares as well as a chance to make payments in installments (interest free). Another good way of finding a cheap Caribbean Cruise deal is to check out the big cruise operators that generally have lower prices and a good example of big holiday travel companies is Travelocity that provide travelers with best prices.

- Lastly, you could avoid Caribbbean cruise costs by taking advantage of early and late booking for low price deals. One last tip in regard to Caribbean Cruise and cheap rates is to consider getting employment aboard a Caribbean Cruise line; especially, Royal Caribbean and Carnival cruise lines that are the two biggest as well as most popular cruise lines operating in the world today.

Cruise ships are a fun and engaging way to see numerous ports of call, enjoy a variety of activities and travel through beautiful regions. Cruise ship travel is, by nature, markedly different from any other form of vacation. So, you need to plan accordingly.

From packing to medical considerations, preparing for a cruise vacation goes beyond the basics of swim trunks and guide books. To learn about how best to prepare for a cruise vacation, keep reading for great tips on everything from packing your suitcase to warding off seasickness.

What to Pack on a Cruise Vacation

Ultimately, what you pack is going to depend on your cruise destination. An Alaskan cruise will require different clothing than a Caribbean cruise at the height of summer. That said, don’t let land temperatures fool you.

Particularly during the winter months, some cruises (like those leaving from L.A.) can be quite cold. Regardless of the forecasts on land, always pack a wind-resistant jacket and at least one set of clothes that will allow you comfort up on deck when things get chilly out at sea.

You’ll also need proper identification and proof of purchase to board a cruise ship. These will be required at every port-of-call, so pack your papers (including your health insurance) in a water-resistant envelope that’s small enough to carry with you if you plan to leave the ship.

Medical Considerations

You will most likely need travel health insurance for your next cruise vacation. When purchasing travel insurance, try to find one that’s geared specifically toward cruises and the legal intricacies of international waters.

Secondly, pack any needed medications. You may even want to pack extras or a spare if you intend to go to shore. For example, an asthmatic may want to pack one inhaler to carry in a pocket and another backup inhaler just in case.

Most cruise ships have a medical clinic and doctor or health professional on-board the ship, but this is typically a stopgap measure, not a full-proof backup.

Finally, if you’re prone to motion sickness, you can prepare for your voyage with basic ginger root. An herbal remedy, ginger root has been proven to help with seasickness while avoiding the side effects common with many pharmaceutical motion sickness remedies. Herbalists recommend taking the ginger root starting a few weeks before you actually leave on your cruise.

What You Should Leave Behind

Always leave behind a full travel itinerary and emergency contact information with family and friends. Most cruise lines offer an emergency number that can be used by family and friends in case they need to get in touch with you urgently.

When it is time to plan the arrangements for a Caribbean cruise deal, there are many decisions that need to be carefully considered, as they will certainly have an impact on how the trip goes and how much you enjoy the experience. One of the first decisions will be selecting from the various types and sizes of cruise ships available. After that, you will need to determine what kind of amenities you would like in your cabin and where you prefer the cabin to be located.

When you are browsing through the websites or the brochures for Caribbean cruise ship travel, you will see that there is always an area that features the layout of the vessel, which outlines the various decks where the passenger cabins are located. Along with the diagrams of the interiors floor plans of the ship, there are usually listings of the different categories of cabins. On very large ships there can be as many as 20 cabin categories, which often makes it very confusing, especially for first-time cruise travelers.

Often there are discount cruise travel deals that are available only for a certain class of cabins on cruise ships. The problem is that if you have never been on a cruise before, it is hard to know exactly what these various classifications mean. If you choose the wrong classification and discover the head of your bed is against the elevator shaft, then you might end up having a less than wonderful time.

On most ships, the cheapest cabins, and the ones that are sometimes offered as “hot deals” by some of the discount travel websites, are tiny and barely larger than some people’s walk-in closets. These cabins are also generally on the lower levels of the ship and may even be below the waterline, so obviously without portholes. While many people who are more interested in the activities outside their cabin may not be dissuaded by a tiny, windowless cabin, they do need to know about the noise. The lower levels of a ship are very close to the engines and often the roar of the engines can make it very difficult to get any sleep.

However, on the newer ships that are being built today, that is less of a problem, as they are being designed better to avoid this problem. In fact, the new trend that many of the cruise lines are following with the newer ships is laying out the cabins in such a way that all the passengers at least have a port hole. There are even some ships in service now that boast balconies for all cabins, no matter what classification.

This is a great trend for cruise passengers because it helps to assure that any cabin, in any classification, will be comfortable and enjoyable. Having the ability to be in the privacy of your cabin, while relaxing with a cup of coffee or glass of wine on your own verandah, will help to make the cruising experience personal, comfortable and luxurious.

With the right deal on the price of the ticket, even a tiny cabin can make sense if you are taking a short cruise that will only last two or three days. In most cases, these cruise ships and these Caribbean cruise lines are more geared for those who are partying and the cabins are just a place to sack out for a few hours between festivities. But if you are going to be on board for more than a few days, or if partying is not your main reason for cruising, then you will want to be sure you have a comfortable cabin where you can relax and unwind and have some time to yourself.

Your Luxury cruise - Cruises Deals

Cruise ships are not commonly thought of as family vacation vessels. However, there are a fair amount of cruises, like Carnival’s “fun ships” targeted at fulfilling just this purpose. You know the kids are not going that far, unless of course they have gone overboard. Also, there is a little bit of something for everyone in all age groups. From adults, to teens, to kids, there is are coordinated activities as well as focused facilities for all of the different age groups. You can rest assured that no one will be bored on a family cruise.

Choosing cruise ship deals wisely.

For parents there are the usual activities. Your rest, relaxation and rejuvenation is certainly the focus and you can spend all the time you’d like lounging by the pool or on the deck, as well as making appointments for a massage or facial. There is plenty of evening recreation for once the kids are in bed, and it varies from ship to ship. There are also great opportunities for socializing and networking, and it is a good idea to have either a small notebook on hand, or at least copies of your card to give to new friends and contacts. There are also wine tasting groups, exercise rooms and nightclubs are on the adults only agendas for most family cruises.

For kids, there are all kinds of activities on board family cruises. From special times in the pool, to special gym classes, the kids are at least seemingly the focus on a family cruise. There are also children’s centers focused on entertaining the kids and keeping them busy while the adults enjoy their alone time. There are craft activities and fully certified staff to work with your most precious commodities: your kids.

If you have older kids, there are also teen centers on board some cruise ships. In fact Coca-Cola recently teamed up with the Carnival cruise line to bring exciting new teen centers to their fun ships. These teen centers have been created out of extensive market research and include dance floors, jukebox listening stations, a mock bar with non-alcoholic specialty drinks and space for the teens to just hang out. This is a revolutionary concept, since teens are a previously untapped market in terms of cruise line focus marketing. Teens are also more likely to find things that they enjoy in the ports of call than will younger kids, simply because they are more independent.

One reason that cruises are a great idea for family vacations is that most of the costs are included in the base price of the trip. While you are on the ship, things like meals and activities are for the most part covered. This is great because you do not have to give per diems to your kids and you can know up front how much your vacation is going to cost. Of course, you will want to have extra money on hand for when you leave the ship and get to do some real travel.
