Where To Stay In Paris

The town of Paris is separated in 20 zones. The first one is in the heart, the next ones head out in a clock-wise direction. The majority of the illustrious visitor monuments are be set up in one of the central eight zones.
The zones are enclosed by the périphérique, a ring freeway. On the streets the périphérique are the banlieues, the suburbs of Paris.

District 1 - Louvre
The least populated of the 20 zones in Paris is at the geographical heart of Paris, that’s why the quarter is packed with historic attractions. The Louvre Museum, Royal Palace, Tuileries gardens, Forum des Halles, Bourse du Commerce and the expensive Vendôme Square are all found here. The 1stdistrict also contains the western tip of the Île de la Cité, including the fantastic Sainte- Chapelle and the Conciergerie.

District 2 - Bourse
{Known as a business district, together with the Palais de la Bourse - the former stock exchange - as its most important attraction. Another important building in the smallest of Paris’s zones is the old National Library. A new expansion of the library is located in the 13th district.

District 3 - Temple
An extra little district; it consists of the northern part of the well known Marais area. The Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts), the Picasso Museum and the Carnavalet Museum - dedicated to the origin of Paris - are located here.

District 4 - Hôtel-de-Ville
The fourth district consists of the southern part of the medieval Marais district as well as the Île St-Louis and the eastern part of Île de la Cité, the oldest section of Paris. This neighborhood is very trendy thanks to attractions like the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Place des Vosges, the city hall and the gothic Tour St-Jacques. Distinct with all the old buildings is the modern Centre Pompidou.

District 5 - Panthéon
The Latin Quarter, with the popular Sorbonne university, is nestled in this district. The area’s popular path, the Boulevard St-Michel, marks the border with the 6th district. The most well-known sight in the 5th arrondissement is the Panthéon, but there are lots of other noteworthy attractions such as the fantastic Val-de-Grâce church, the Cluny Museum, the roman-era Arènes de Lutèce and the city’s large botanic garden, the Jardin des Plantes.

District 6 - Luxembourg
One ofthe world’s supreme parks, the Jardin du Luxembourg, makes this district admired with locals and guests alike. The 6th district also consists of a variety of attractions such as Odéon Theatre and the Saint Sulpice church, which sports 2 towers with a distinctive design. Another important church in this district is the 11th century Saint-Germain des Prés, the oldest abbey church in Paris.

District 7 - Palais-Bourbon
Government associations and majorattractions dominate this expensive district. The most famous of these attractions is the Eiffel Tower, drawing millions of site visitors every year. Other key visitor draws are the Invalides - with its museums and Napoleon’s tomb - and 2 extra museums: the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée Rodin. The Palais Bourbon (National Assembly), École Militaire (Military School) and the UNESCO H.Q. can also be found in the 7th district.

District 8 - Élysée
Another district full with visitor sights. The Champs-Élysées - most likely the world’s most illustrious boulevard - cuts through this district from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe. Bordering the Champs-Élysées are the fantastic Grand Palais and Petit Palais, as well as the Élysée, the presidential Palace. The district too has the temple-like Madeleine church and the greenery of Monceau Park.
