Rome isn’t going on holiday, but is staying here for those who need to enjoy the town, as well as the holidays that this year are occurring in the town for five months, from the 9th Apr to the 15th Sep.
This is the programme Estate Romana ( Roman Summer ) : to amuse by inspiring people to partake of a full programme of events and partying. There’s still a summer to experience from every angle of the city, going from music to cinema, from art to child-related activities, without neglecting theatre, dance and reading. Floodlights are turned on Ponte di Nona, Pigneto, Tor Tre Teste, Montesacro and many other bordering districts in our town, so you can experience every angle of the Eternal town.
The event with 32 years of experience now pulls a huge number of travellers each year to hotels, hotels and apartments making the city stand out as one of the most sought-after summer tourist destinations.
It is predicted that the programme will include around 650 events this year, with music, theatre, theatre, dance and books, that is a median of twenty events a day. As well as initiatives already tried out for years like Jazz at the Villa Celimontana, with Ombra del Colosseo, the Opera in Caracalla, Rome welcomes events with an international flavor and with different kinds of initiatives, for example the protest Biblioteca fuori di s and the Bruce Springsteen concert at the Olympic Stadium.
After the first three months under the emblem of the love of living in the city’s open areas, from the centre right out into the districts, in August and Sep the programme will get even more interesting for those of you who love the night, those insomniacs of you who can’t get to sleep until 5am.
Rome offers a particularly lively nightlife, particularly in the summertime, because you can get around on the water : big boats on the Tiber river that become discos and bar, and there are even more discos on Ostia’s beaches. And then there’s the unmissable Roma Estate in the Foro Italico : massive stands out in the open which go on, even at a low volume, till 6am for the house and commercial music lovers of you out there, and there is even salsa and group dancing. There are also different sorts of open-air shops which are always open, as well as places where you may be entertained with different types of games included. The common night spots such as La Pinetina, San Lorenzo and Trastevere are still here too. However, Testaccio is now closed. In the final analysis, Rome doesn’t give you a smash from all its nightlife until the middle of Sep, and indulges you to enjoy its historic beauty and enjoy the most pretty parties. With museums, churches and discos on the beach, summer is in Rome.
