Stay Safe - Protect Your House With Burglar Alarm System For Home Security
Burglar Alarms More Important than Ever
Many people call me a little paranoid, since I have tried many burglar alarm systems over the years trying to protect my things and mainly my family. But to me, a little cash and research is not too much to pay for peace of mind.
Even as a college freshman, I was preoccupied with home security. I did not have much, and what I did have was mostly cheap junk. The prototypical dirt-poor college kid – I bought most of my furnishings from salvage stores and garage sales. But movies and tv were a passion so I picked up a sweet new television and a VCR. It is ironic, since today I could not pay someone to take a VCR, but at that time they were in huge demand. My apartment – being cheap – was in a pretty sketchy part of town so I was always worried about someone breaking in. I was sure no one could get in through the windows because they were all welded shut with decades of paint, so I really concerned myself with the front and back doors.
Since my budget was very limited, my first home burglar alarm was a pair of self-contained door alarms. They still sell these everywhere – they are sort of like rubber doorstops and they right by the threshold and if someone opens the door it runs into the device and presses a lever, making the alarm scream out. Not exactly Fort Know – but I felt comfortable all night.
When me and my wife got married and actually started to acquire good stuff – as well as a few kids – I appreciated the need for a real burglar alarm system. In the beginning, like all young families we were forced to save every penny so our home security system had to be cheap but still provide what I wanted. Some motion detectors pointed toward entryways, and a little control panel allowed me to secure everything when we left as well as at night when we slept. Again, fairly basic but very safe.
Now, the children are all grown, but I still have my wife and now we have pretty nice things. The unemployment rate raised my worries that people might start to get a little desperate so I decided another change was in order. Today, if you want to deter a burglar security alarms are the wisest choice. Thanks to the internet, crooks can pick almost any lock and if an alarm does not scare them away, once they are in they can take their time. These new burglar alarm systems are truly incredible. I can remotely command and monitor mine from our cell phone or laptop from anywhere in the world.
